The Pines Dark So Gold UK Release Date

19. December 2011

The Pines have long been a hidden gem in the American Midwest having spawned from the same pool that created the genius of Bob Dylan. There’s clearly something in the water out there as these Indie rockers are gathering quite a pace in the run up to their new album release in early 2012.  Heading out on an American tour to support its release the album is sure to grab quite a bit of attention from further afield and it’s pretty obvious that soon fans will be clamouring for them to head over the pond to see us here in the U.K.

To be fair to the American duo, labeling them as simply “Indie” isn’t entirely correct. With an eclectic mix of blues, folk and even some country style strumming in there, the band has it all utilizing saxophones and synth in equal measures. Following up from their 2009 release Tremolo,  the new album Dark So Gold goes from the more rocky and upbeat numbers such as tracks like “Rise up and be lonely” to the frankly beautiful instrumental “Losing the stars”. Prepare to make Dark So Gold your new best friend in a relationship that will be sealed right from the opening track “Cry, cry, crow” which chills and tingles the spine in equal measures.

Characteristically dark and yet still an uplifting listen, The Pines are paving the way for new Indie bands to think a little more outside the box and are well known for doing their own thing musically. Listening to Dark So Gold is guaranteed to inspire even the hardest hearts and draw you into the ethereal landscape the band have managed to paint directly over the American Midwest.

Dark So Gold is set for release on 31st of January 2012 and will be available to download on Amazon.

Entitled, 'What We Saw From The Cheap Seats', Regina Spektor has been working relentlessly on this album since 2009 with Maroon 5 and Avenged Sevenfold producer, Mike Elizondo. According to Regina’s very own Facebook, the release date is promised to be sometime in May 2012 – exciting or what?! She also stated that she is hoping to release a few tasters before the release which is brilliant.

With a release of several outstanding albums behind her belt already, you can almost guarantee that this next one will be amazing. She was responsible for a few sweet little songs on 500 days of summer and she’s received a handful of awards over the span of her awesome career.

Metal fans rejoice as Lamb of God have finally unveiled information regarding the release of their new album entitled ‘Resolution’. The album will come in a 2 disc set with gorgeous artwork by longtime art director Ken Adams. The album will feature 14 bone crunching songs and a bonus disc of featuring some awesome live recordings from their previous 2009/2010 tour. The full track listing of the bonus disc is as follows –

4. Walk With Me In Hell

9. Blacken the Cursed Sun

10. Laid to Rest

11. Redneck

12. Black Label

Not much has been released in terms of what the new album will sound like, but c’mon it’s Lamb of God, you won’t really expect such a fantastic band to jump on the dubstep band wagon or something! The new track listing for the actual album is as follows;

1. Straight For The Sun

2. Desolation

3. Ghost Walking

4. Guilty

5. The Undertow

6. The Number Six

7. Barbarossa

8. Invictus

9. Cheated

10. Insurrection

11. Terminally Unique

12. To The End

13. Visitation

14. King Me

Having been around since as early as 1994, you would expect such a band to start growing stale. On the contrary, Lamb of God are perhaps more popular now than they were to begin with! With six studio albums, a live album, a compilation album and a handful of DVD’s all under their belt, Lamb of God clearly not a band to be reckoned with.

Lamb of God’s new album entitled ‘Resolution’ will be available to buy from the 23rd of January 2012, however you can pre-order it now from Amazon and Play.com!

Korn The Path of Totality UK Release Date

18. October 2011

Having been around since as early as 1993, it’s definitely nice to see a band like Korn still going strong to this day. Having recently announced that they will be releasing a new album entitled ‘The Path of Totality’ fans have been somewhat confused.

Why? Well, Korn have decided to ditch their Nu-Metal appeal which has followed them since the 90’s and instead introduced dubstep into their songs. Of course this displeases a lot of Korn fans who see dubstep as “just another trend”. Be that as it may, I can’t help but feel curious as to what the album will entail. Having heard a few of the tracks already, high hopes have been set!

If you haven’t heard it yet, make sure you check out the brand new single ‘Narcissistic Cannibal’ which still features the fantastic vocals of Jonathan Davis but has been fused with the talents of Skrillex and Kill the Noise – interesting!

I myself am a huge fan of the breaks Noisa is renowned for, so I’m extremely excited to see how the track ‘Chaos Lives in Everything’ turns out!

So why have Korn decided to become dubstep warriors? It’s all thanks to Jonathan Davis’ love for Dubstep. He convinced the band that introducing such a strange yet awesome style of music into their songs would give them an edge no other band has. After hearing a few tracks, it’s safe to say that he’s right!

Also included with this album will be a DVD that will feature the band performing a live gig in Bakersfield. Of course avid fans will have probably seen snippets of this gig already on the web, but the DVD will offer the full thing with no buffering involved!

Korn’s ‘Path of Totality’ will be released on the 5th December 2011 and is available to pre-order now.

The full track-listing is as follows;

1 Chaos Lives in Everything (feat. Skrillex)

2 Kill Mercy Within (feat. Noisia)

3 My Wall (feat. Excision & Downlink)

4 Narcissistic Cannibal (feat. Skrillex and Kill The Noise)

5 Illuminati (feat. Excision & Downlink)

6 Burn The Obedient (feat. Noisia)

7 Sanctuary (feat. Downlink)

8 Let's Go (feat. Noisia)

10 Way Too Far (feat. 12th Planet, Flinch & Downlink)

11 Bleeding Out (feat. Feed Me)
